AUTO THEFT AWARENESS EVENT

Members of Crime Stoppers Of York Region, York Regional Police, Gardaworld and KYCS hosted a crime prevention initiative designed to raise awareness about keyless Ignition Auto Theft at the Tim Hortons located at 200 Green Lane East, in East Gwillimbury.
President of Crime Stoppers Canada, Dave Forster, and Chair Kelly Carrick were joined by other Crime Stoppers of York Region board members along with Deputy Chief Brian Bigras from York Regional Police, Sean Sportun, National Director, Strategic Accounts For Gardaworld Canada and Jason Lyall, Vice President of KYCS Global Inc.
to assist in raising awareness surrounding the surge in auto thefts.
The objective of the initiative is to expand awareness within the community on the growing issue of Auto Theft through technology while providing vehicle owners with a simple and effective solution that blocks the key fob signal. As well, provide members of the community with a crime reporting platform and conduit to report persons involved in auto theft to the police anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers.
KYCS and Gardaworld generously donated key fob signal pouch protectors to Tim Hortons drive-thru customers.

Customers also received Crime Stoppers Of York Region swag and a Tim Hortons gift card.
