On Monday, February 15th, 2010, at approximately 5:00p.m., the victim who drives a taxi cab was flagged down by a male at the intersection of Keele Street and Finch Avenue in the City of Toronto.

The male requested to go to Keele St and Hwy 7 in Vaughan. Shortly before their arrival, the male ordered the driver of the taxi cab to pull onto Ronrose Drive near Keele Street, in Vaughan. As the victim attempted to collect the fare from the male, he pulled out a knife and demanded the victim’s money. The victim turned over a quantity of cash and his cellular phone. The victim then fled from the cab. At this point the offender jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off in the taxi cab.

The unoccupied taxi cab was recovered near the scene by responding uniform officers. The taxi cab was equipped with a security video camera which captured the robbery on video and images of the suspect.

SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION:
Male, 25-35 yrs, West Indian or light black skin, 5’8, 170 lbs.
